Individualized Educational Therapy
Educational therapy is a personalized, holistic approach to learning that goes beyond tutoring by addressing the underlying skills that impact academic success. Through individualized, research-based instruction, educational therapy supports students with learning differences and neurodiversity—including dyslexia, ADHD, nonverbal learning disorder (NVLD), executive functioning challenges, and other learning disabilities—by strengthening foundational academic skills, building effective learning strategies, and fostering confidence and independence. Sessions are tailored to each student’s unique learning profile and often include close collaboration with families and allied professionals to ensure consistent, meaningful support across environments.
ISEE Test Preparation
The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) is a standardized test used by many private schools to assess academic readiness in verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension, and mathematics achievement. Support focuses on the Lower Level (for students applying to grades 5–6), Middle Level (for students applying to grades 7–8), and Upper Level (for students applying to grades 9–12) exams.
ISEE preparation is offered as both short-term and long-term support, tailored to each student’s needs, timeline, and learning profile. Instruction emphasizes not only content review and test-taking strategies, but also confidence-building, managing test-related anxiety, and developing effective pacing and problem-solving skills.

About me
Valerie Strocco, M.A., C-SLDI
Valerie Strocco is an educational therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting students, including roles as a classroom teacher, learning specialist, and now through her own private practice, providing one-on-one and small group interventions. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Therapy and is a CERI Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist, with extensive experience providing targeted, evidence-based dyslexia remediation. Her work is grounded in structured literacy principles and thoughtfully tailored to each student’s unique learning profile, strengths, and areas of need. Valerie supports students with dyslexia through explicit, systematic instruction that builds foundational reading and spelling skills while also strengthening language comprehension and written expression.
Valerie also has experience working with students with a wide range of learning differences, including dyslexia, NVLD, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. She collaborates closely with families, teachers, and allied professionals to strengthen academic and cognitive skills while fostering confidence, independence, and self-advocacy.
In addition to educational therapy, Valerie has significant experience teaching both individual students and group ISEE test preparation courses and camps. She helps students approach testing with effective strategies, reduced stress, and a sense of preparedness.
